OK I have two machines that are running on my home network. One is used for day to day computing tasks. The other is hooked up to my DSS and TV via the ATI AIW Radeon 7500 card. I am using MMC 8.5 to capture my files. I can watch live TV through it via the Eazylook software built in to the programs or I can watch my recorded shows on the TV through ATIs Media Library application. However if I try to copy these files across the network to my first PC via Windows Explorer's shared network folder or if I even try to open these capped files in Windows Media Player to view them I get an error saying access is denied. It claims that the files are currently in use. Is there a way around this. Why does MMC lock these files down even when they are not in use. I have tried closing up all ATIs applications on the other PC but to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem. I would like to be able to move these captured files to my first PC for backup on DVDRs.

I probably have all the facts wrong but there is some version of XP that will try to read media files for its preview window if you have them showing in Windows Explorer. You can probably find this if you do a search and there is a registry zap that fixes it.
