I've used the DIF4U/Reauthorist method successfully on several DVDs, but I've never encountered this problem. Everything goes great, but when I go into the layout editor and press "Start", it gives me these errors after it begins multiplexing the main VOB stream:

"Error Line21 at 03:15:11:09 or 00:00:00:00 is across the cell boundary(cell #83 and #84).
Error Line21 at 03:18:35:27 or 00:00:00:00 is across the cell boundary(cell #86 and #87)."

The error starts at cell #6 and just keeps going up. Scenarist still creates the movie, but the output is all wrong when I try to play it (and I do use IFOUpdate on the output) Anyone seen this before or know how to resolve/fix it?

Movie is JFK (NTSC) Main titleset is VTS01. Tried ripping with and without subs with same result. Ripped following this guide and all of it's settings: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ra-guide.htm

weird. cc boundary errors are normally warnings, i thought.

The movie does finish it's encode, but when merging it all back together it's all screwy. I've never had that happen before with any movie using this method, and I've never had those errors before in any encode i've done in scenarist (whether it be with reauthorist or more old-school methods). It just seems odd that they would both happen at the same time. Any other ideas on how to fix?

well you can't really expect someone to diagnose when you say 'it's screwy'. I have no idea what the symptoms are.

Fair enough. By "all screwy", I mean that the menu is pointing to entirely different areas than what they should. For example, starting the movie (from the menu by selecting "Play Movie) will take me about 10 minutes into the movie. Additionally, doing scene selections will take me to places that are not the proper scenes. They will even take me to areas that are at earlier points in the movie than where a scene which came before it takes me. For example, Jumping to Chapter 11 (again, from the menu) takes me to around 1 hour, 35 minutes into the movie, whereas Chapter 12 takes me to a point at about 1 hour, 15 minutes into the movie.

I can guarantee you beyond the shadow of a doubt that it isn't the CC track that is doing that.

I can't really even speculate what it could be, except to say that this usually happens when your ifoupdate didn't go correctly. Have you tried copying the original ifos back to your VIDEO_TS directory and ifoupdating again?

Also, right after Scenarist has finished compiling, play the Scenarist VIDEO_TS folder in something like WinDVD/PowerDVD. Are the chapter points correct at that point? Obviously you wont have the menu, but you'll be able to see if the chapters match the original.
