"After resolution of the Last Call Comments (see TD 91 Plen), ITU-T Rec. H.264 “Advanced Video Coding for Generic Audiovisual Services” (see TD.66 Plen) was approved by SG 16 according to the procedures in ITU-T Recommendation.A.8."

The standard is freezed now. We can start writing h.264 codec now;)

we already have a huge thread about this topic, try to search.
the programming has started much time ago, but the project was not updated in the last time. maybe they stopped it. I hope not

Hm, i read that thread before. What i post here is news and not available in your original thread.

The spec has only been officially approved at 30/5 in ITU.
Spec is available for sell from ITU for Swiss Franc 96 since 10/6.
It still need to go through ISO for adding to the mpeg-4 standard.

Now i got a copy of the spec from ITU and i will see what can I do about it :-)

do you know programming? would be cool to have someone to work on it.
