I have just bought a video tutorial for a software that came on a DVD Video. Now, I wanted to take a backup of this DVD onto another DVD. The Original DVD that I got is a DVD-9 (dual layer DVD with around 6.7 GB data). When I looked into the data by ripping ir with smartripper and opening the VOB in DVD2AVI, most of the VOB's contain nothing. I guess, to avoid DVD copying they made a disc like this.

I wanted to know, what's the best way to get rid of these junk VOB files that contain nothing but are still taking up space on the DVD. If I can get rid of them, I can put this DVD-9 to a single DVD-R/DVD+R disc. I am looking for an option without re-encoding the content since, I know everything can be put together on 1 DVD if these junk files can be removed?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Amit

check their structure, I bet they have a single one pgc structure. U can build yourself some vobsets containing a still black image to resemble original structure and ifoupdate the new files in place of the original ones.
