View Full Version : DTS in OGM Problems

I'm trying to mux a 48khz DTS file with a DivX video with VirtualDubMod into an ogg media file. However, when I try to play the file, the DTS track plays at 44.1khz: the audio becomes horribly out of sync by the end. For some reason, when I look at the DirectSound filter info, it tells me that it's playing at 48khz. When I load it into VirtualDubMod, not only does it have no idea what the track format is, it displays the frequency as 44.1khz. How can I fix this? Should I use a different tool to mux? If so, which one?

I don't think OGM can mux DTS streams. I know that you can with AVI's and I think Matroska can mux the DTS streams with a program called mkvmerger. I don't have any DVD's with DTS streams so I can't test it.

Yes, that's possible: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43269
I have to update the guide, because it should also be possible with vdubmod.

That's an old thread but there indeed was a problem in VirtualDubMod. The DTS parser was broken (resulting in the program reading wrong values for the samplerate or bitrate of the file).
The version here (http://cyrius.bunkus.org/VDubMod_Release.zip) should fix the problem now.
