View Full Version : iuVCR Timer - Please help

I'm using iuVCR but I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to initiate a capture to run for a set period without having to set up a schedule with start and stop times. Say for example I want to capture VHS input. In the past using Vdub I would just set up the timer, start the video and hit the F6 button. iuVCR has a 'start' button but the timer seems to be fixed for 60min. If I set up a schedule with start and stop times it harder to synchronise turning on VHS when the schedule kicks in. I there a setting that I'm missing?

Any sugestions appreciated.

Where did you want to set the end time?
All I can see here (http://people.freenet.de/TC.Xan/images/iuvcr.png), is the this:
The start time
The duration
The frequency of the schedule
The day for the first capture
So what? simply set up the above settings how you need them, then click ok. If you're running Win2K/XP, you'll have to enter a username and a password for the schedule.

You can set a option to stop record automatically when your movie is over.
Choose an option "Stop when signal vanish"

ADLANCAS...thanks for the handy tip.

Thanks too fellaw

I may not have made myself totally clear.

I'm aware that I can schedule start and stop times. However I need to be able to cue the VHS player a second or two prior to capture starting so I don't get dropped frames and audio sync probs. A manual start on capture would seem to be the most appropriate. I therefore wondered if there was a setting that would adjust the end time from a manual capture start (ie override the 60min timer).

Maybe if I pose this as a question and apologies in advance if the answer is obvious:

If you wanted to capture a 65 min segment in the middle of a VHS tape how would you do it assuming you can leave it unsupervised after starting?

Depending on the version of iuVCR, right click on the record button, it'll give you a popup menu with a capture timer. It's a fairly recent feature...

Thanks yarisbandit......I saw it only just before you posted. I don't usually right-click on buttons so I overlooked it.

This feature makes ALL the difference.
