Authoring in DVDMaestro, I want to make a video play before a menu appears. I can set that, but when watching in a DVD players, some players have a pause while they find the menu or something.
How can I make it like commercial DVDs where it may as well have been one video, since it flows into the other so perfectly?

Dont know how to make seamless transitions in meastro (scenarist yea, but not meastro). But I do know that on most commercial dvds, the intro and the menu really are one video (vobid), with just the menu as the next vobid which is the one that the intro/menu links too and loops.
An example of this would be 'Austin Powers in Goldmember', which I just redid a week ago, and btw infinifilm is a pain in the @!$ to recreate...
Anyway, hope this helped some, and hopefully one the the meastro gurus will be able to give you a more efficient answer.

tell me Tobytl pls how u make seamless transitions in Sceanrist. I thought it was 1 videostream with the menu and then the menu alone as standalone pgc to loop.
thanx!

Sure srfscenar, but be aware, there is one major condition. The two different videos (seperate m2vs, seperate vobids) MUST be added one after the other so that they will have consequtive vobids. And they must be in the same pgc, that should pretty much go without saying though :). Then in the scenario editor, select the first cell of the second (menu) video. scroll down in the properties box to something like Seamless Flag. It is most likely set to "Defualt (non-seamless)", change it to "seamlessly". That should do it.
And AP3 had the main menu in a single PGC. The Intro/menu was VOBID 1, the menu alone was VOBID 2, and VOBID 3 was seemingly a clone of VOBID 2. It did this by placing the meat of the menu commands in the post command of the main menu PGC, and using a simple "Set GPreg<7, I think> mov (set-val)<button number>" for the button commands.

create the intro vid and the menu as the one file, then when creating the menu, you can set loop (for an intro into a motion menu), or still (intro into a single frame) menu type.

If i make it as one video, then the button selections would be over the introductary video, and I don't want that.
Plus, I don't want it to end then start the whole thing over again, just the actual menu part.

this wont happen if you move the slider (after selecting loop) to the point where you want the selections to start appearing (and where it will loop to after it reaches the end).
