I just posted a thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56622) about some odd behavior I'm seeing about "The Last Don" DVD and came up with an idea. Instead of asking on some forum, how about a centralized encoding notes database of every DVD title. People can post issues with each DVD like "'Pi' is really uncompressible" or "you have to run vobsub on the DVD directly for 'In the Mood for Love'." Other things that can be posted could include the comp test value, recommended audio bitrates, etc. This website would be just as legal as Doom9 since it's only discussion of procedures.

Does this sound like a good idea? Does it already a exist? If not, I'm a professional web developer and could probably whip something up like this if there's sufficient interest. Or maybe some existing DVD collection database (DVD profiler, etc) could add this as a feature.

great idea. I actually thought of this a long time ago, but I never could take it anywhere.
