is this a svcd

hi all, ive just purchased a film which was a
SVCD* -TELESYNC-Centropy-Re-encoded to DVDR -
>MENUS,MUSIC,CHAPTERS ETC

for some reason it wont play on my dvd player.

i know that my dvd player wont play svcd films, now because it was originally a svcd does that mean it still wont be recognised on my player.

also, if this is so how can i sort it out?

i also got a dvd screener that wouldnt play on my standalone either, how can i tell what sort of film it is aswell?
