Has someone in here figured out how to get rid of those nasty spikes from satellite captures? The picture is here (http://people.freenet.de/TC.Xan/images/spikes.jpg). I couldn't avoid them this time, because of the weather(all gloomy with lots of clouds).
Those spikes pushup the datarate unnecessarily. I tried lots of heavy filtering(AviSynth + Vdub mainly), but nothing helped! The noise itself is no problem, I can use DustV5 or similar for that.

This looks like analogic sparklies to me, your signal is not strong enough; either realign the dish better, either get a bigger one and a better lnb; a dirt cheap FTA digital system will give a better quality.

I know what that is :) :)
The problem was the weather that day. Normally I don't have those analogic sparklies. But this time they weren't inevitable. I can live with them, but I'd rather rid my video of them. The problem is that in my experience such sparklies are bad likewise noise for an mpeg4 encoder.

SpotRemover for VIrtualDub. It's limited shareware but the most advanced for replacing white or black dropout-type noise. There are some other experimental things but nothing that works as nice.
