Jackass regional coding problem

I ripped Jackass to my hdd and when I try to play it in PowerDVD I get a blue screen on startup saying the regional coding of the player is incompatible with the regional coding of the disc. I have tried ripping it with dvd decrypter and smartripper but always with the same result. I have both progs set to remove region coding and rce coding. What am I doing wrong?

is the region set in settings | general set to your paticular region?

I checked that about 10 mins after posting. RCE checking was set for R2, changed it to R1 and presto!, no more problems.
