Encoding Ogg in mono not possible?

I tried encoding a mono wav to a mono Ogg and ended up with an Ogg that played at twice the speed.

Seems like a big limitation to me. Especially on spoken work like audio books.

Tried in Media Jukebox 8.

When i need to encode vorbis 1channel, I use OggDropXP.
AFAIK it's not possible neither with besweet/HeadAC3He

This would be a great feature to add to both BeSweet and Headac3he. I don't get the same quality from OGGDropXP that I do with Headac3he bit for bit
