One of the first things you can do, is check out this link (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers/) to see if your standalone player is compatible with the SVCD format. I'm not sure if I understand if your player recognizes some discs and not others, or doesn't recognize any of your SVCD creations. Give us a little more information.

You've been around awhile and done D2S rips before, so I don't think that you've had this problem in the past, or we would have heard from you on it. Assuming that this is a recent problem, my first thought would be to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of DVD2SVCD, then rip an individual chapter for a test, and see if that doesn't help you out. Until you get some help here, if you still need it, define your problem in its simplest terms, and run a search on it, most of the time this will do the trick.
Please drop the caps, they tend to be annoying. Check out this Sticky (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51632/)by Ddogg for a better explanation, I found it to be very informative. Good luck.

Thank you for your comments on the caps, i will follow it.
I am using DVD2SVCD program to convert movies.
The movies are 3 hr long.I am using this program for over 6 month.
I do not have any trouble in converting Dvd to Svcd.
All the svcd's plays when i play it using windows media player on PC.
Recently we bought a tosibha DVD player, when try playing my svcd's on that, some movies(each movie has 3 cd's) plays well.Meaning we could able to watch movies on the TV.
But for some movies(svcd's), when i play with Tosibha Dvd player, i can see stretched or tiled picture on the TV. I can hear clear Audio.(These same svcd's plays well on the Persona compuer{PC})
I hope this makes clear and you may be able to understand my trouble with svcd'd
thank you

There's a good discussion on squeezed frames and aspect ratios in the DVD2SVCD Quick Guide and FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23668/), along with links to other documents of note, including the FAQ from the DVD2SVCD Basic Topics forum. Give these solutions a look and see which one applies best to your particular set of circumstances. If this doesn't work, post back.

Hi-
Did you check out the link that ammck55 provided to find out if your player plays SVCDs OK? If I remember correctly, some of the Toshiba players can be picky about what they'll play, and some don't play SVCD at all.
As for the stretch issue; go to the setup menu. If it's set for 4:3, try 16:9, and if set for 16:9, try 4:3. I don't know what a tiled picture is.
The movies are 3 hr long.
Bollywood. Indian people sure get their money's worth when they go to the movie theater. :)
