:D Hello (again )!

Have several region 1 discs and am trying to back them up and make them region free in order to play them around the house on several different dvd players.- only one of my players is multi region..

My DVD-ROM / burner is an oem version of the sony500a..I believe there is still no flash upgrade to make it region free..Hence when I boot up DVD decrypter it says there is a region mismatch on the drive and indicates it will use the slower Brute Force method instead of the I/O exchange method...No probs so far..

However on most ( but not all ) of the region 1 discs...partway through the decrypting phase i get the following...

Cracking CSS...Then at about 6% on most of the movies...

Brute Force Cracking Failed..There were no vulnerable blocks..

What does this mean? Any ways of getting around it?

Thanks again for any help.

Regards

www.firmware-flash.com

At the above site, you may be able to find some help. Have you thoroughly checked out the Decrypting forum and searched over there on this?

I assume that u haven't a second dvd-rom to rip the contents from.

as ammck55 suggested, decrypting forum is a better place for this thread.

I am moving it over there. U ll get help faster

No..I currently don't have a second drive although may consider buying one and flashing it..

Have you tried extending the number of search sectors (or something like that from 1000 to, maybe, 3000) and # of key occurrences and that kind of stuff in the preferences of DVD decrypter?
