Hello,

I have created a DVD using DVD-maestro.

The project consists of a single video-stream (placed on track #1) and a single DTS audio-stream (placed on track #1).

There were no errors / warning after compiling.
But when I insert the burned DVD in my standalone
DVD player and play the content, I hear no sound.
Everything else works... !

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening ?
The standalone DVD-player does play both Dolby Digital
and DTS encoded DVD's, so it has the capabilities..

(By the way, PowerDVD and WinDVD play the DVD well)

Thanks

My dvd palyer does also play DTS, but I hear no sound because I have no output do a (external) DTS decoder, but I guess that's not the problem?

I had a problem one time that I had sound on my PC, but not on my standalone for some strange reason. Couldn't figure it out (sorry that's not very hopefull...). I had exactly the same structure in my original and backup but no sound. Tried to figure it out together with oddyseus but without result unfortunately.

It might be a problem that your DTS track has gotten assigned a different stream number then your original? CHeck both ifo files and see if they got the same stream number and value. Under PGCITY and corresponding PGC that is.

does your dvd player actually decode the DTS streams, or just redirect them to the digital out?

I believe that auenf wants to ask if your amplifier is dts capable.

That's what I meant too. Because your DVD player has a DTS logo doesn't mean by definition that you hear sound. A lot of times you have to use your digital output to connect your dvd player to aamplifier that can hadle DTS.

The audio-signal is sent to AV-amplifier by a coaxial cable.
And yes, the DVD-player supports DTS.

Other (retail) DVD's play the DTS track well, no problems...

i was asking whether the DVD Player can decode DTS, or whether it just sends the raw DTS stream to the digital out.

this would require that your amplifier be able to decode DTS streams.
(or if your DVD Player can decode DTS, than it may even have an option to send a DTS stream decoded to LPCM thru to the amp).

When I play an original DVD on the standalone dvd player, the AV-amplifier detects the dts audiostream properly and plays it well !

But when a home made DVD (with dts track) is played, the picture is ok. But I hear no sound, the AV-amplifier doesn't detect the dts-stream.

I am starting to think it has to do with the authoring process (DVD Maestro ?).
