problem capturing analog source

I have a Pinnacle PCTV catd installed using the generic WDM Driver.
Capturing TV Programm with Virtual Dub I'm not dropping any frames at all and everything is fine. But if I want to cap a VHS Video I'm loosing near every second frame. I didn't changed anything.
Connection -- Scart to chinch. The same codec & comression ...
Even in low resolutions 352*288 and smaller I'm loosing the same amount of frames ...

I'm total helpless. Any Suggestions ?

Your problem is the source. VHS is not good quality and you'll easily drop frames when capturing from such source material. You'd need a TBC but that can get quite expensive.
