Background info:
Using RSS News Feeds
http://www.webreference.com/perl/tutorial/8/
RSS Viewer Applet: Window to the World of News
http://webreference.com/xml/column7/
Some mates @work check the headlines of their favorite sites through an RSS client. One of my favorite pages is http://www.linuxhomepage.com which seem to use that technique to make their page work like an RSS client.
I use Mozilla Firebird 0.6 which supports multiple homepages, opened in tabs. Mine are:
http://www.linuxhomepage.com/
http://www.doom9.org/
http://forum.doom9.org/
http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=33
http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=69
http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=52
http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=8
and I'm closing and reopening every tab every time because it's quicker than a individual refresh.
But it could be more useful for me and a great functionality for you if we could get RSS news feed for XVID, Avisynth Usage, etc, individually. Any user could subscribe any forum for RSS from his profile.
Best regards,
Bilu
