Hello,

since i turned to nForce2 i got problems with capturing in Full PAL with VirtualDub (original, Mod and VCR).
my system always shows me the bsod: 'no_more_system_ptes' @ 0x0000003F!
the faulty driver is 'videoprt.sys' (file-version: 5.0.2195.5015) (got it by enable the TrackPtes-Option in registry).

additional information:
Asus A7N8X del rev 2.0 using onBoard-Sound
Sapphire 9000
Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro (PCTV Vision 4.02a, capture with TV-Tuner)
Win2k SP3

already tried reinstalling the pctv-, nForce-, catalyst-driver and surely the whole win2k.
and tried with increasing the System Ptes!
tried other pci-slot, other motherboard and other soundcard.

how can i solve the problem? (capturing in Half-PAL isn't that good)

-regards

Itīs the nforce2 chipset. Very good for converting video but has
serious problems with capturing (I have also read about it in several
tests, and they all say that it can only write ca. 22 MB/s through
the PCI-bus, others (i.e. VIAīs KT400 go up to allmost 40 MB/s).
This is also the same for the nforce1.

You could use another codec for capturing, one that compresses better
(but with higher CPU-load), look in the codec-page for that.

that wasn't the problem!
capturing in Full-Pal leads to an BSOD. Allways!

until this morning.
after installing the whole thing new (the first time without the soundcard from the beginning) the problem was gone.

so the Philips Seismic Edge was the Factor which brings me the blue screen.
now it's okay but i think nForce2's APU isn't that good for analouge capturing! but who cares with the full 768x576.

thanks for the help. I'm so lucky
