I really wanted to find an answer to this ... project of mine. And by posting in two areas I was hoping to increase the responses but I see you've disabled my post in this section ... DVD authoring. My problem comes under both of these areas. I'm a newbie when it comes to this kind of project. I usually just do the movie and be done with it.
Yes I'm getting nibbles in the IfoEdit section but if someone did read the post in this section and have an answer ... they now have to decide whether they want to bother searching for the other location ... the post in this section doesn't say where and your reply gives hint that another post does exist but it slows down my chances of obtaining an answer.
Please Please understand ... I'm sad and bummed out [that you closed my post] and I'm not in any way wanting to get on the bad side with you. I see you have a site of your own ... unless there is two Mpucoders out there. Maybe you have some ideas on how to do this.
Could you at least perhaps throw some hints or something into the post you did leave open.
In case someone has an answer to how to create an DVD-R with the movie from Disk 1 and the music video from Disk 2 ... please if possible jump over to the IfoEditing section and throw some ideas in my direction.
I'm sure someone eles besides me would like to do this. It's a pain to juggle DVDs around to hear the music video on one DVD and then have to pop it out and pop in the other DVD to watch the movie.
Sincerely ... Mach10 :(

this can be done using tmpgenc dvd author.
rip the movie into one folder and the video into another folder
use dvd author to pull them both into 1 file. if it is too large use dvd shrink 2.03 to shrink it down. i did this 2 days ago. it works great, although the options dvd author allows are some what constraining it is easy to use and works. :)

echooff ... I appreciate your help.
But Tmpgenc DVD Author only gives me one choice of audio track. And whether or not it allows Sub-titles ... not sure.
This movie is "Die Another Day" Disk 1 and 2.
Problem is I don't need Sub-Titles or a second language but my friend is Spanish-American and his wife is from Mexico [she is very beautiful and does not speak English] and he needs his DVD collection copied with spanish sub-titles and with the Espanol language included.
His daughter ... 2 years old ... has a wonderful desire of getting into his DVDs and playing with them ... aka ... ruining them ... LOL.
His daughter is almost as cute as my granddaughter but [I'm 50 years old] not quite. And she has already scratched the heck out of Disk 2 of "Die Another Day" [he paid $20 bucks at Wal-Mart] ... so he brought it to me to save it. At least it wasn't Disk 1 ... the movie is on that one.
Question ... is there a Commercial program that can author DVDs vob files and keep the alternate languages and subtitles intact.
What about DVDLab ... can it do that??
Sincerely ... Gary

8) No cross posting. Post your message to the appropriate forum and nowhere else or it will be locked or deleted without warning.
you got a warning, you must have been lucky.
i had a quick read of your older post, and it doesnt really say anything about 'dvd authoring', and only really mentions ifoedit, vobedit and dvdshrink, so its not suprise that it was originally removed from this forum.
before you post again, make yourself familiar with ALL of the rules (theres a link to the at the top of EVERY forum page.

Guys Guys ... come on ... it is exciting and really great to check my email and see someone has responded to my request ...
I get all anxious to see what I can do to combine the Movie from Disk 1 and the Music Video from Disk 2 ... and still keep the Spanish track and Spanish subtitles ... for burning to only one DVD-[+]R.
And instead ... I'm getting my hand spanked.
By using ifoedit and vobedit ... isn't that what we are doing ... DVD authoring.
Or in other words ... authoring a DVD movie by using ifoedit and vobedit.
I know of another Discussion Forum [deals with audio processing] and ... WHOA !!! ... that forum has had it's share of problems ... one of the moderaters took it upon him self to change someones post without permission. They were all buddies but some how it got really messed up. And some of the members resigned.
As moderators ... could't you at least do a "bad news -- good news scenario" and throw some hints on how to do this sort of thing ... is it really that hard to combine titles from Disk 1 and 2 into 1 DVD-R disk ??
Tmgenc DVD Authoring program doesn't retain ... DTS audio or Spanish language or Spanish subtitles.
Dolby Digital 6-channel AC-3 audio ... Yes.

What you could do is use anything like ifoedit to strip your dvd to movie only (with desired audio and subtitles).
see http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-advanced.htm
or http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-basic.htm
Do this for your music video as well.
Now you'll have two vobsets (if they are both vts_01_* you should rename one of them and recreate the ifo files, but that's probably covered in the guides).
Now you can use Tmpgenc DVD Author to IMPORT those vobsets (so no authoring needed anymore) and create a menu for it. This is all under the assumption it will all fit on one disk.
If not you'll have to reencode and reauthor one of the titlesets. For your requirements you could either use maestro or scenarist for this.
Or as suggested use dvdshrink or any other one click wonder program.

Thank you buddy ... You put a smile on my face. EEEEhhhaaaaa someone answered ... without reminding me of my days back in grade school.
You know it seems the DTS and Dolby digital tracks and Spanish audio tracks should be there ... Tmpge Author only rearranges things ... I don't believe it rerenders or transcodes anything ... [well it kind of does] if it is doing that ... man my computer is faster than I thought. AMD 2500 XP with Barton Core.
And then use IfoEdit to check and change the audio settings ... hmmm .... oh man all this stuff is so much fun. Darn it ... why do I have to be 50 years old already.
I'm going to try using Smart Ripper and take the movie from disk 1 and the music video from Disk 2 and put them both in the same Video_TS folder and see how that goes.
Any good guides around using DVDLab v1.5 ??? he he he he

You see, the reason the duplicate thread was closed is the rules, specifically rule 8. It's OK to post later in another forum if you're not getting answers, and it should be from scratch, not a copy and paste job. Or you can ask for the thread to be moved. What the rule is designed to stop is peppering the forums with the same question (what's called the buckshot approach).
btw, as many here know, I'm older than you. Age should never be a limit on learning. I also hear that curious mentally active people keep their marbles longer.

Thank you for the response ... Guys.
Staying active is a good thing ... First week of July ... my summer session of college kicks in again at Fresno City College.
I'm going for a job as a Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have over 6 years ... clean and sober.
I've had a few run ins with the law ... before I realized ... if I stop doing drugs ... I will stop going to jail.
Hmmm ... perhaps this is the reason ... I got so upset with ... RULES.
My girlfriend is a librarian at the Substance Abuse Program [SAP] at California's Corcoran State Prison #2. Yes ... Robert Downey Jr. was one of her clients. I've been thinking about getting a job out there ... just not sure if I can handle trying to help a bunch of drug addicts in a prison setting ... I've never been in prison.
She has another client there [I will keep his name anonymous] ... and is hoping his friend Billy Zane [Billy Zane played in the movie ... The Phantom] will still have this acting job for him when he is released ... but it is in another country. Parole may frown.
Later guys ... I hope this tinge of movie trivial is okay.
Sincerely ... Mach10
P.S. Yes the rumors were real ... Mel Gibson did visit Robert Downey Jr. ... while he was there at Corcoran. The woman guards there couldn't keep quiet. he he he he
