I want to split Amadeus onto two discs by reauthoring the whole movie in Scenarist 2.6. The movie on the DVD has 46 chapters, and I want to put chapters 1-23 on the fist disc and chapters 24-46 on the second disc without having to cut the MPEG stream and the AC3 stream

1) I used DoItFast4U to demux the main VOBs.

2) I created a 3-hour track in Scenarist that contains the video, ac3, and subtitle pictures.

3) I defined the first 23 scenes in it. The duration of the movie track was adjusted to the end of scene 23 (1:32:09). The fist disc was compiled using the first half of the movie track. It works without any problems.

4) I deleted the 23 scenes in the first half of the movie and defined new 23 scenes in the second part of the movie. The start point of the movie track was adjusted to 1:32:00. Compilation failed (muxing error at the beginning of the second scene, 1:38:12).

5) If I delete all of the scenes in the second part of the video track, compilation works. However, a chapter mark in the second part of the video track causes the compile to fail.

Why is that? Is it possible to create a DVD with chapters using only a part of a video track? I regularly cut off end credits in Scenarist, and it always works. Why cannot I cut out the beginning of the video track?

Thanks.

U can cut out the start of the video. Just make sure u define the same timecode to 'Start time to Video' as well as to 'Start Time'
