Hi,
I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone who understands Japanese can please translate the parameters of this filter
Image of the dialogue box is located here (http://www.kjps.net/user/r2-m2/clare/dtv/img/aviutl/gnb/TypeG_Helper.auf.png)
Thanks a lot,
Dali

Top to bottom, left to right:
Mode
Y Edge Lv [Level?] %
Y-NR %
C Edge Lv [Level?] %
C-NR %
Adjust X
Adjust Y
Adjust Lv [Level?] 1-5
Lock Y-NR % to Y Edge Lv %
Lock C-NR % to C Edge Lv %
Set Y Edge Lv
Set Y-NR
Set C Edge Lv
Set C-NR
I am not sure what "Edge" is; perhaps by "edge lv" the author means "threshold" ?

Dali Lama,
What's this filter for? Where did you find it?
kaitsuburi,
I'm trnaslating some sites from Japanese to English to put them on AviSynth.org. Will you check my translations for accuracy?

@all,
Great news! If you could translate these sites, they have a lot of info. Also, later on, it would be nice to translate the aviutl plugins, some are very unique and good.
Here are some sites I am looking at:
http://cwaweb.bai.ne.jp/~icchan/LINK/DLINK.htm
www.geocities.co.jp/Milano-Aoyama/9505/
http://aetermv.hp.infoseek.co.jp/aviutl.shtml
www.kjps.net/user/r2-m2/clare/dtv/aviutlpg.html (this one is the best, all filters and sites linked to here)
http://cwaweb.bai.ne.jp/~icchan/icz.htm (this one has some nice technical info on how to use some of these filters)
PM me if any of you guys have questions. I think there may be other Japanese/English speakers who could help out.
Good Luck,
Dali

Yeah, this could work out quite well.
I need to look into WIKI at AviSynth.org and a fwe other things.
Right now, I'm collecting the site URLs and mirroring them.
If you know someone who is a native German speaker who might be interested in helping with translation, I'd sure appreciate it.
Here are 2 sites which I'm quite interested in:
http://www.uni-kassel.de/~eckhardm/hq.htm
http://www.mb1.de.vu/
I've already got some site space at GeoCities. They limit the account to 8M and the monthly usage cap isn't that high. As long as actual video isn't stored there, we should be ok. I'd rather put these translated sites up that way and just link from AviSynth. It will be a lot easier to maintain.
Send me whatever links you come across that need translation and I'll get on it. If possible, please use my regualr email address.
There are also a few dead, gone, and buried sites that I'll put up shortly. Just need to figure out how to handle more than 1 account at GeoCities. If you're interested to know which sites, look at the main A/V links page I maintain and you'll see some with an asterisk. Those are the ones which will go up.
Thanks, guys, this could work out very well.

I'll try to do the first 2 pages within the next 2-3 days.

If you do the translation, I'll take care of hosting.
I do a LOT of beta testing for a web spirder called Offline Explorer. Can retrieve just about any site as a functionig mirror. If you want, I can pull the sites and forward to you. Alternately, if you tell me which strings to replace, I'll do that. This would keep them looking as close to the original as possible.
I do think we should add links to the original site and a note about the translation.

Hi,
kaitsuburi, that's a good start, please take your time.
Fred, that's funny you mention those German sites, I was also interested in the information people like mb1 and other German native speakers have to share.
I will try to change the title of this thread to something more appropriate.
Take Care,
Dali

Here's another. WarpSharp's list mentions the filter AntiComb from this page.

hm, i could do it, but i've had a very quick look at these sites and am not convinced that they contain much information that is not already documented on doom9.org :scared: especially the second link seems to me rather pointless as it is rather outdated!
and also the first page uses stuff like vdub 1.4d, vfapi and other outdated methods...

The two SVCD pages of the first one looked like they might have good info.
The second one has nice use of images to illustrate some basic concepts. It's not all duplicated information. Doom9 doesn't have an in-depth discussion showing YUV/RGB. At least, I can't find one in the guides.
My interest is because of the grphics to illustrate the topics.

hmmm...ok... well if you could illustrate which pages you would want a littler closer, i might consider doing it if there's a decent form of hosting etc. i just don't want to invest a lot of time jsut to find out that it's hosted where nobody can find it and actually nobodies reading it anyway because it's either outdated or not necessary anyway ;)

Those 3 pages are the ones that I thought might be helpful. Cna't read German, though, so don't know about the SVCD ones for sure. There isn't a YUV/RGB guide here on doom9.

On the left side is a button titled, "Yuv-Colorspace und RGB" which leads to page http://www.uni-kassel.de/~eckhardm/Frame8HQwip.htm
I've seen some of those graphics other places but never as complete a discussion.

@killingspree:
I could also translate it, if you're short of time, but probably not before the weekend, either...
@FredThompson: Maybe we should ask mb1s and Angels permission?
FredThompson

Will you ask? I don't speak German.

Sure...
Although he speaks probably better english than me ;)
I will send him a pm in the german dvd-svcd-forum...

Consider this active again. I've started complete translation of some sites.
@kaitsuburi - are you still willing to help?
