Hello.

As you have, probably, guessed I am leaving the Doom9 team member team, and I will stop being a moderator.

Don't know where to start, I've been around on this scene quite a while and watched several sites/projects grow and fall apart, Doom9's site and he as a person were always something special, altough it started in a time when DVD backup sites where growing like mushrooms, so my first thought was something along "Ah, another site, wonder if it will be updated one or two weeks?" :p (man, was I wrong...). My first moderating duties where on Wimpy's Flexion.org forum (IIRC, in the year 2000) and I started being a mod on Doom9's old ezboard forum a long time ago, and until now I'm not sorry for spending so much time here, as I only gave a little back what the community gave me (not counting in the, obvious, fun). I've been in the scene, soon, four years so it's making me a bit nostalgic when I write this posting... I hope that my behaviour and engagement showed (shows) how and what I feel about this community and its members.

Trough the time I gained more and more respect for the person behind the nickname "Doom9" (wonder if he'll change it when the 9th game of the Doom series appears), and that's where I'm very picky about and I don't say such things because of hidden agendas/because it's nice to do or so. After a while, more and more mods came to the team and it was/is great watching the forum and site grow and change constantly...

The reasons why I quit are personal and have nothing to do with the other team members/admins, on the contrary I respect them more than alot.Will use a quote from DSPGuru that I like:

"i've seen this kind of things happening before, so in order to avoid this kinda bullshit :
the reasons for my leaving are mentioned above. if someone suggests another reason (like i had a fight with doom9 or god knows what) - he's wrong. i love this forum, its admin, its mods, its users."

Another thing to add, it's been fun and a honor for moderating on this forums (been a Divx moderator alongside, a long time too). And I am, also, thankfull to all of you forum members and team members out there who did put up with my long winded and chaotic writing style, my, very often, hot tempered replies and dalmatian stuborness. Thanks for all those who replied to my questions, and a big hug to all of you (wich means all of you who put something back in this community) who make this board the best video discussion place on the web...

I will stop thanking everyone as this would sound like I've won an Oscar or that I try to break the record of Marcus Aurelius...

Starting next week I'll be much more sporadic on the interent and I'll post less on the various boards, I don't know what I'm going to do with my projects (like the Freeware List), still have to decide it.

I'll end this posting with the croatian word for "thank you". Hvala!

Cheers,

Mijo.

P.s.: I am replaced by two very respected members of this community, and I'm glad that Doom9 agreed with my high opinion of them and "recruited" them. I already see that they do a better job than I did, I would be happy if you would treat them with respect for their work and contributions...

don't leave, you can be here for me and everyone elses heres amusement or known member. i would probably go but you probably shouldn't, i'm sure you have answers to many questions others have, more or less. it'll be a disservice to the forum.

At the moment the only disservice to the forum I can see is your stupid talk, ammer!

@Ookami: I'm sorry to read that you're going, but you will have your reasons...
But I'm sure one will see you around from time to time

Nice try, but you surely will not get discord into this thread... I was not asking anyone if I could leave or not, let alone you. :)

Sigh.

@ultimatebilly

Thanks, but I suggest that you just ignore people who are trying to bring discord into this forums.

No offense, but you need to learn to read the full posts, buddy. :o

@Ookami
You´re just after a "Goodbye Ookami" thread, aren't you? :D

I hope to see you around, you were allways a reference member, both in knowledge and behaviour, and it was an honor for us to have you as a moderator.

Thank you for everything. :)

It's a sad day, ookami. First you perk me up with your mention of me in the "anonymity" thread, then you bring me down with this one.

In order to make this better I'm going to imagine your personal reason is that too many women clamoring for your attention has left you too weak to continue your duties here as mod. This makes me feel good for you, and at the same time jealously resent you and makes me glad you are leaving. See, a win-win.

But seriously, I wish you the best and I hope we see you around, at least sporadicly, in the future.

(I'm debating whether I should congratulate Swan and Wilbert here, or really kiss ass and make new thread..hmmm.)

Hope you enjoy the summer and the sun, if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, that is :)

Discord (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=discord) definition 1 applies: a. Lack of agreement among persons, groups, or things.
b. Tension or strife resulting from a lack of agreement; dissension. A confused or harsh sound or mingling of sounds. Music. An inharmonious combination of simultaneously sounded tones; a dissonance.Regarding "rotaridomnessis," please click on this (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=rotaridomnessis) or on this (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=rotaridom), then attept to clarify your meaning for us all. I eschew obfuscation.

Regarding your original complaint on closed threads, I have, on at least one occasion, reopened a closed thread at the polite and reasoned request of the thread starter.

You're here for the flamewars, aren't you? Is this the kind of forum you want this forum to be?

In your most recent replies in three threads, I haven't seen a positive, objective, reasonable, rationally critic post from you. You have said you want the forum to become chaos, or a dictatorship by moderators who punish without following rules. Then you rantled and rantled and rantled. And now you wish to represent "the disgruntled member".

Do you realise that developers wouldn't want to post among rantlings because they need objective feedback to improve their work?

Do you realise newbies want to search between clean threads because they wouldn't learn nothing from useless rantlings?

Why am I losing my time on someone that has no motivation on learning or teaching, just rantling? :scared:

This thread is for thanking Ookami for his efforts, let's stop discussing here. And let's show him we have learned something, shall we? :)

it's pepole like you and DanniDin that researched for tools and ideas and were one of the very first to publish methods for ripping/transcoding.

let me thank you for your presence and let me wish you all the best with your obscense.

as one who had to take a break myself, i understand you and support you.

according to the fact that I respect his work (it´s still there even when the person is gone) here and on his own site, I just want to say:
"sve najbolje, mijo" thus i am 1/2 croatian and I would feel bad by
NOT writing this, it means "all the best wishes" if I still can remember it right :)

Hello y'all :) .

Thanks for all your kind wishes and posting, it makes me real warm and fuzzy... Ok, probably the ~15 beers from 2 days ago, have, also, something to do with it :D .

Now, to adress some of your thoughts.

1.) Reason of leaving. While I find some guessing hilarious, the reason would be a long story, and saying "woman" is not long ;-) . It's also not computer related (thank God!)...

2.) Linguistic approach to "Rotaredom", well you all should take the same approach to "Xvid" and have a look what that means.

@bilu

LOL No, this thread is more than enough. Altough I am, probably, an attention whore, I would be embarrased if there would exist something like the DSPGuru thread in the audio section. This is more than enough.

Thanks for your kind posting.

@dragongodz

Thanks and hope I'll mail you soon with my final DVDx beta test results.

@wmansir

You deserved every bit of praise, as I always tried to learn from your behaviour, and your "every of my posting is useful and right on the spot" is admirable. LOL about that comment...

-Pamel

Thanks. I will not adress everyone, as this posting is already, getting gigantic, even for my standards. If I could I would, but I already feel, somehow, strange to misuse this forum for such an nostalgia and ego-boost ;) .

@Pamel

Thanks. Funny, where did a Texan learned Croatian? Was his ex (or non ex), from here? Or his parents, grandparents? If you need any translation, PM me, and I'll do it if I have the time. :)

@jggimi

:)

@DSPGuru

Thanks alot. Didn't knew about that old story you told, wow! Thanks.

@Jim

Yep, you got it!

@Christian

Thanks.People like Blight are way longer than us in the scene, so you have to wait much longer to be under the top 10. :p

@Lord of the Discs

Hvala. Please re-think your decision, it would be a sad day without a member like you.

@Hiro2k

Thanks and nice to hear about that.

Eh...

All the best,

Thanks Mijo for all the help and mails I got from you. I am very sad to see you leave, cause whenever I was online, to see you in the list was something like seeing a good friend of mine being ok.

What should be added ? Without you I wouldnt have been able to complete the capture guide, you had some hard work with the capture FAQ and without you i hadnt found the Ultimateboard and also my job here in this forum is based on your effort.

Thanks alot, but you should not think that you can retire completely. I will drop you a few lines and I hope we can complete our FAQ with the hardware part some day. The "community" needs it...

Now, to add my 2000 cents.

@Teegedeck

Thanks a bunch. Somehow I feel this thread would've died days ago if I wouldn't bump it all the time with my stupid comments to the nice postings :D . Eh, "Me! Me! Me!" (almost, Monthy Python).

@gerti67

Thanks. Still reading your quote text file from time to time, soon I'll know it in my sleep ;) .

@dvd2svcd

I plan to take a long break, just like Steady and DDogg took (maybe even longer) . We'll see what will be after that... Not to mention that I'll be a newbie then.

@DDogg

Well, nice of you to say that. But somehow I feel you've missed many of my flaming replies... Don't know if that could be called whup-ass...

@BaronVlad

Thanks, Tim. I've mailed you a few days ago, when you find time mail me with your thoughts of the guide and FAQ and I'll recommend and help as much as I can.

@BlackSun

Well, that's obvious, isn't it?

@Scipio

Thanks 10x. I had to edit this posting because I skipped you along with the troll in this thread. Sorry... Hope that I replied to all, now.

@N_F

Well, as long as you're sincere there is no need to think about words :) . Thanks.

@TheWEF

LOL Nooo. How can I kill this rumor? No, that's not the reason (not to mention that I could buy the T-Shirt saying "No girlfriend, here!" :-p ). Cough... Anyway, thanks for your nice wishes. Must tell my imaginary girlfriend what you said to her. Hihi...

@cofferscuffs

@DanniDin

Thanks Danni... I'll reply to your nice mail, ASAP. Maybe, I'll update my list this summer, or at least a mini update with your recommandations... We'll see.
