First of all, let me state my goals: I am trying to capture and burn tv shows to disc in ogm format. I am using a sony vaio laptop w/ amd athlon. I am confused over what kind of card I need. Do I have to buy a card that is a TV tuner, or can a regular video capture card accept input from my satellite reciever via component output? What would provide the best quality. While searching this forum for the proper card, I have also seen posts discouraging the use of usb connected cards. Do I need to avoid this? If so, would I do better with a pcmcia or ieee connection. Can someone point me in the right direction over which card I need (trying to keep it under $50). I know you get tired of hardware questions, but I have been unable to find answers to these questions thus far.
