I've recently been exploring the virtues of SVCD versus DivX largely because my DVD player can play SVCDs, and I can share my videos with my friends. For a source, I'm using my miniDV camera to make the movies, and when I download them to the computer, they are in DV Codec format with PCM audio. However my clips are only a few minutes long apiece. Hardly enough to fill a SVCD. Can I use Nero to add one video, play on the standalone DVD player, then go back and add more? Does the concept of "closing" an SVCD exist? Can I go back and fill the CD like I can with normal data CDs?

Also, I have the Nero MPEG plugin but I read that it wasn't very good. I also have Cine Craft encoder. Can I use it to create SVCD subject video? If so, what parameters do I need to use?

Thanks!

i think i remember reading somewhere saying that you can always add more until the (s)vcd was closed, but the chances of it playing on a dvd player was slim to none.

everybody says the quality of nero's encoding quality was horrible, so if everybody says it, i guess it much be true.
