Hi all

I've posted this in the One Click forum (no answers), so thought the more experienced CCE users here might be able to help, thanks.

I'm a newbie to this dvd2dvdr/CCE method and I've managed to complete my first project. Being curious, I used IFOEdit to check the ORIGINAL.IFO against the new one and noticed that the movie (PAL format) came out slightly SHORTER (01:32:36.18 vs 01:32:37.00 /25fps). CelTimes.txt had the correct info from the Original. Closer examination reveals that differences in times started from Chapter 22 up till the end (Chapter 28).

I've tried a different movie and the same problem exists (5 to 6 frames shorter in length)!

I'm not sure if this is to be expected as part of the re-encoding process. Because of this, I'm not entirely confident about using this method. Could the more experienced users please help explain what might be going on? Is this a dvd2dvdr or cce issue?

Also, regarding the multipass VBR setting, is there a way to check out the differences (2pass vs 3pass) in the final encoded result without having to visually compare them? Do you use Bitrate Viewer and see which has the higher bitrates?

Any feedback most welcomed, many thanks in advance.

This is a DVD2AVI problem, see also http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44150

I wouldn't worry about it.
