Can't rip subs

Sometime after I installed RoboRip and GordianKnot 0.27, I noticed I can no longer rip subtitles. I downloaded the latest VobSub (2.16) but it did not help. I can run VobSub and select a file. When I select a destination directory, I'm returned to the main dialog, without being given a chance to select the languages I want. Moreover, the OK button is not higlighted.

I thought this was a problem with one or two DVDs, but now I see it as a software problem.

Then I downlaoded VSRip (version 1.0.0.6). I get the same results, but at least can see an error message:
Opening ifo OK
Parsing ifo OK
Searching vobs...
ERROR: Cannot open vob sequence

Can someone offer a suggestion what to do?

I don't know this error, but I have two ideas:

1. Try upgrading VobSub, the current version is 2.23 I think
2. Look into your control panel->software, if you have the subtit.ds filter installed, for subs in .ogm containers.
Vobsub and subtit.ds don't like each other that much...

You could also try Subrip, just to check if the ifo-file is ok...
