First, make sure you didn't introduce any audio offset when using bsplayer. Second, is virtualdub really playing at full speed? If you fast forward to the end, do the subtitles get delayed the same amount the video is being delayed? (Virtualdub has problems with VBR mp3 audio streams)

the problem tunred out to be in the movie itself, or at least thats what i believe.. in (at least) one point of the movie, everything suddenly turns pink and from then the audio gets out of sync.. this happened in media player, mpc, bsplayer - only place it didnt happen was virtual dub, where in that same point the movie played normally and the sound remained synched... strange
i have the Gknot codec pack / retail divx / latest drivers for video card and never experienced such a problem so its gotta be the movie
thats what you get when you d/l from kazaa (note to self - p2p movies only with emule)
thanks for your help though !
