DV cam. and Studio 8 problems

Just gotten a firewirecard in my PC and started play around a bit.
With the Card I got the Studio 8 program that is sayed to be easy, but I can't say it is in this case. I'v installed the program and all and it is updated with the skandinavian documentation and the Norwegian Update cd for the Studio 8 so it's tha last version and so the program is in norwegian ( must have that for my girl :) ), but here all my problems start ... I can start the Program ... the Slash Screen comes up and I get in to the program , but it's just thinking and think ( the PC ) ... 100% load on the PC ... but I can't click on any buttons in the program !! I have no problem getting the Dr.DivX to respond to the Sony DV cam. but when I make a DivX of some shoots that I on the DV-cam it's just bad Quality , and the sound is crappy ... I have thought that maby because it's streaming the film from the DV-cam throu the Firewire and can't get enough frames pr. sec ore some thing , but ehh ... So I realy need a waey to get the DV-film from the cam to the HD, and Studio 8 should do that easy, but since I can't get that to respond ... I can't have any fun with it ... can someone give me a helping hand ? Just new to this DV-cam stuff ... had the cam for 2 weeks ...

What's your hardware specs (GHz, RAM, etc.)?
You may want to try another capture application, like dvio (you can get it from the sticky threads).

Oh I forgot ... well my PC spec. are :

Intel P3 866MGz 256MB Ram and a Old Rage128 GFX card ... I know a crappy pc, :rolleyes: but it should work , and I realy would like to use studio 8 , unless the other program is free , and easy to use , and as I see it WinDV and Dvio does not do that ... I can use this program to get the video to the HD, but It does not offer any good , and easy to use edit and adding film FX like text and smooth crossing in the diffrent film scene ... so I realy would like to have the Studio 8 working !!! I know how to use VirualDub, but that does not my girl, and it's her that so keen on this cam. recording ...

Ok, the PC is not the fastest. Maybe there's an issue with your graphics card (or the drivers)?! I'm sorry, but I have no idea where your problems come from. I'd check out for current drivers, and look for support forums on the internet.

As your problem is Studio 8 not working, I think you should contact Pinnacle support.
