Hi, I'm a relative newbie to DVD ripping. I've ripped about 10 DVDs so far to DivX. I wanted to copy the entire DVDs of Darkness Falls and Men In Black 2 to my hard drive (not just the movie). I used SmartRipper to do it using the "backup" mode. When I went to go play both of those DVDs off of my hard drive I got a screen that said "This disc is intented for non-modified Region 1 Players". I am in Region 1 and these are Region 1 discs. My DVD drive is unmodified. I tried ripping both discs with the "make region 0 setting" turned off and on, and got the same result in both cases. I also moved the video_ts file to the root of my drive to see if it was doing a directory structure analysis to determine the disc was copied, but it still does that.
I also ran into another problem with the new Black Hawk Down 3-Disc deluxe edition.... when I tried to rip just the movie, about 4 minutes into the movie it garbles from the scene it's in to another scene that's supposed to be 20 minutes later over the course of about 2 or 3 seconds. This is when playing the VOBs directly through DVD2AVI. I have ripped the VOB files numerous times and get the same result every time.
Can anybody help me out with either of these two problems? I did do a search for both of these problems and could not find anything, so forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere on the forum.
Thanks a bunch.
