Well I did the rule 1 thing, I hope I won't be shot. :(

I'd like to encode an old classic from 1978 : Up In Smoke ( http://us.imdb.com/Title?0078446 ) actually it's very very funny if you got a chance to watch it :D

Well it's a rather short film and should cause no trouble fitting on a 1 CD rip (I m not trying to gain in compressibility).

The trouble is simply that the film being quite old there is a certain amout of noise (apart from the usual mosquito noises of course) that can gives you sometimes the impression that the background is moving (just like some very light haze, I promess it's the movie I haven't actually taken anything :p ).

There is quite a lot of noise remover filters (c3d, fluxsmooth, undot, peach, deen, ...) and I'm a total newbie at Avisynth so could one either :

- simply tell me Use that filter with those settings it will work don't get mad for a single encode

- give me an url pointing to a compareason test

- if the answer is of the kind "try all the filters by yourself you'll see" well it would be very nice if someone could provide me a rough script of how to do all the test encodings in one script

I hope I won't bother anybody :(

Thanks all !

avscompare (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40675) is a great tool which allows you to find out the impact of the filters used in your script on your movie...
