whenever i open a video file (doesnt matter which container i use (.avi/.ogm/.mkv)) dvobsub (2.25) autoloads the subtitles, but there are some problems:
1) the video plays jerky (slow) causing sync problems with the audio
2) on the righter part of the video there are many grey vertical stripes showing like this |||||| when i make a screenshot with bsplayer the stripes arent there so i guess its a problem caused by dvobsub?

I am having much more bizarre problems with VSFilter 2.25, myself.
AVI or OGM with external IDX+RAR (rarred vobsubs) fail to load DirectVobSub at all. External SRT's DO load DirectVobSub, but both Zoomplayer3 and MPC crash at this moment with either External exception E06D7363 or a C++ Runtime error - ONLY when the video file is loaded FROM CD (which has the SRT, of course). This crash does not occur when the relevant files are on a HardDrive. Instead, the SRT's load fine. External SUB's (not VobSubs but text subs, miniDVD I think) show the same behavior.
In fact the only subtitles that DO work are OGM embedded SRT's. These have no problems on or off CD.
None of these problems occur with DirectVobSub 2.18 or 2.23 - ONLY VSfilter 2.25. I really like the transparency and color options of 2.25, however, and I want to keep using it for OGM embedded especially.
Can you please fix this, gabest? Or can someone tell me what I am doing incorrectly?
Thank you.

I've found the following temporary solution to these problems:
(NOTE: This only applies to MPC 6.4.5.4 and VSFilter 2.25 AFAIK)
Install both gabest's MediaPlayerClassic (I'll call this player1) and a good second player (I'd highly recommend ZoomPlayer3)(this is player2). Install (Direct)VobSub 2.23 and use player2 to play all video files with subs that DO NOT require VSFilter 2.25's new features (eg. NOT MKV's & preferably not OGM's w/ embedded SRT).
Open MPC and goto the Options dialog. Select Filters "root" and click the Add Filter button. From the list select DirectVobSub (autoloading version). Select Block.
Select Playback "root" and under Output click the Video list and select Video Mixing Renderer 7 (or 9 w/ DirectX9) (renderless).
Then select the DVD/OGM "branch" and setup your language preferences (very useful).
With this setup use player1 for MKV and OGM when they have embedded subtitles (these always seem to work both on and off CD's) but NOT for any video files with external subs. Use player2 for these. Player1 may be able to play external subs from a harddrive. That has worked for me, at least.
I hope this helps!

I hate to bring up something this old, but has this ever been fixed, or is there a way to upgrade or even downgrade the subs? this is starting to become a great annoyance.
