I have a vcd as source for a reencode
are there any filters that i can use to get rid of some of the negativ effects of mpeg1
just to get a bit more quality with less blocks, patterns and such things

thx in advance

1) crop away all crappy borders around the video (only mod2!)
2) For smoothing blockiness try smartsmootherHiQ
3) correct the Aspect Ratio:
PAL 352x288 -> 384x288
NTSC 352x240 -> 352x256
4) you may also add some other FIlters like levels, (temporal)noisereduction etc.
But don't filter too much!
