it both work fine when transfering from DV to PC
but after I install panasonic codec or mainconcept, only the one capture by premiere can be opened from virtualdub, the other one pops an error messege says no sound stream detected...

and when I choose to the compression on audio, the highest mp3 bitrate turn out to be 56kbit/s, does it look right?

Ulead VideoStudio plays in a different league than Adobe's Premiere. You can compare the latter to Ulead MediaStudio Pro. So if money doesn't matter, and you've got the choice between VideoStudio and Premiere, choose Premiere.

The MP3 limit comes from the standard codec. Install the Radium codec to get full bitrate choice.
