View Full Version : Multiple IDs in one sub

I'm working on 'Die Another Day', my method is to use IfoEdit to get only the streams that I want (audio, video, subs), transcode with TMPG and author with IfoEdit. I get the subs out of the vobs using VOBEdit, and this time ran into a problem. This is usualy an easy process, however...

There are two id's for each sub, where I would expect to see only one ...
SubPicture 1: English (2-bit rle ) (ID: 0x20,0x21)
SubPicture 2: Français (2-bit rle ) (ID: 0x22,0x23)
etc...

As a result, when extracting the subs 0x20 and 0x21 become two sub files instead of the one that they were to start with.

I can author with both sub files but during playback I can only choose one, which is incomplete. <EDIT, I was wrong about this, they were just wayyyy out of place, was able to reposition them with Maestro, alls ok now.>

IS there an easy solution to this, or will I have to use other tools like Sub extractor and Maestro or something to get them to work properly?

Ok, maybe I found out something about this, opening the ripped vobs in SubRip pop up a message about Closed Captions detected. Well I did some searches on CC and SubRip but no much good info (at least that I understand).

FYI I a trying to get the default subs that are forced (they show the locations and the translations for the Korean speakers).

<Edit>
Well, SubRip had no problem getting subtitle stream 0x28, which contains all the info I want.

<Edit more>
In SubRip the pairs of subs were labled as Widescreen and Letterbox. I chose the Widescreen, seems to be working ok in Maestro.
