Hi everybody,
Yesterday I bought a Hercules smart TV stereo card.
PowerVCRII is supplied with it.
I use the s-video to capture VHS tapes (you know holidays and birthdays) that I would like to burn on DVDr.
I tried the various format proposed in the soft (PAL, NTSC, SECAM) but I get a green image.
Had the same problem with virtualdub.
AMD 2GHz - 256 Mb RAM - 60 G HDD - WinXP - Graphic ATI Radeon.
Has anybody some suggestion ?
Thanks

blank green screen?
this would suggest that you didn't brought video to the card
(or you didn't picked the right input connector or so...)
check cables,input selection ,etc.
teh tv standard should be correct too...(i guess you know where you live, huh?)

Tanks for the answer (from croatia I guess - My father is also from there)
OK, I'm in Belgium where standard is PAL.
When I connected my card to my PC and installed the soft, I bought a complete kit with the s-video and audio cable, connected to my VHS recorder peritel via an adaptor.
First attempt was correct but black and white image (though I checked that my original video tape was in colour).
Then I started plat with the various standard (NTSC, SCAM) and get some coloured image but on a very nice green background)
Now I can't even get an image whatever standard I choose (Hope I didn't burn someting)
I will try to remove everything and to restart the process.
Any other duggestions are welcome

this suggest inproper svhs wiring on either source or destination device...(chroma pin missing)
you migth wanna try pure composite (chinch) connection to at least check that device is ok(drivers etc.) ( you can't burn your device with such low voltages as present in a/v connecting)
also if you don't have svhs vcr, then you don't have svhs source for sure!
(ie. you can't get svhs signal from normal vhs machine)
your standard,then, is "PAL B/G" (belgium,germany)

or maybe it's a secam output read as a pal and in this case it's B&W

Thanks to all for answering.
I think I tried everything possible :
Change PCI slot
Unistall and reinstall (drivers+soft)
Try capture from DVD player and sat decoder.
From peritel to sVHS and composite.
Try Virtual dub
and now, I have a very nice blue screen whatever I do.
Has any user of the Hercules smart TV faced similar problem?
Thanks
