scLive Memory Leak [Archive]

After a fresh OS install (XP SP1, 900mhz 256MB RAM, FireWire 7200rpm 60GB capture drive), scLive (20021115) has developed a horrible memory leak. My entire page file is filled up after 2 minutes of capture; no other capture program is having the issue (Premiere 6.5 and DVIO). This never happened before, and is quite annoying. Has anyone else experience this, and/or have a solution?

I got that too the first times I used it (with W2K). For some reason I had it compressed with UPX (exe-compressor). I installed it later without that and haven't had problems since. I thought it was UPX that caused it, but now I suspect that there really is a bug in the app that surfaces only with certain configs. BTW: I now use XP SP1 too, and it works ok.

Yeah, I've had that problem occasionally. The capture stops, reporting "disk full". Didn't investigate further as it was intermittent and it's been a while since I used it (or updated for that matter - if there were any). :rolleyes:

You might want to try the latest version, 20030619, and see if you run into the same problem.
