Is there a maximum size in MPEG4?

I want to compress a movie in 2048x512, but I cannot get vdubmod to do it for me. 1920x512 works fine, but when I hit 2048 is seems to fail. Is there a limit within XviD, or should I look somewhere else?

Sh0dan: DivX5 have maximum up to 1920x1088 at multiples of 4. I think, that XviD is comparable.

But 'theoretically' is maximum of width = 2048px (256x8).

well, I think I remember Mpeg 4's maximum image size is somewhere around 4000x4000 px :| on like the studio profile or something :\

vinetu@: Thanks - I've been working with image sizes well above this res, and I've had no problems.

Even though I'm actually not going to use such a large res after all (our tests indicate that 1536x384 is enough in our case) - I hope this limitation will be lifted soon!
