subs not showed?

This is the problem:

I've ripped the subtitles with vobsub from the movie Once Upon A Time In China. Normally I haven't any problems, but now the following happended: if I play the final file (encoded in divx) with media player 6.4 (like I normally do), no subtitles are showed...

The image does extend from 16:9 to 4:3 but I only can see black space... I tried to change some options like color and position but I can't get the subs to be showed.

Anyone might know the solution?

Hey... I have the same problem with a movie... I have encoded more than 200 movies with no problem but yesterday i had the same problem.. I used every player i had, Vobsub filter loaded well but ...no subtitles... The only solution i found is to convert them to text using SubRip...

maybe it's because i'm using the new version of avisynth (first 2.08 and now 2.52)?
