Man, I'm this close to buying a DVD recorder and stop all my ripping efforts  .
My biggest problem now (beside the time I spent ripping, frameserving, cropping, ripping subtitles, encoding audio, setting up chapters) is incredibly with playback.:(
This is my second OGM with the same problem.
The problem can be best described as this:
This is how a correct picture looks like:
/---------------\

I M A G E

\---------------/
This is more or less how my picture looks like:
----\/-----------

E || I M A G

----/\-----------
Movies are XVid with different settings.
BFrames are on.
Several subtitles and OGG soundtracks.
Ffdshow decoding is disabled (using XVid decoder).
Rez: 704 x ___ . Tell me if it's important.
This problems appears only at home.
P4, WINXP, INTEL 845GE Board (Onboard Video)
The office PC looks normal.
P4 WINXP INTEL NVidia Vanta LT
At home:
The picture is correctly rendered in VDubMod.
The picture is correctly rendered if no subtitles are muxed.
Both Zoom Player and WMP behave the same.
Doesn't matter wether I use MKV or OGM.
Filter chain (From GSPOT) if I remember correctly is:
Video: FFDSHOW -> XVid decompressor -> Subtitle Mixer -> (R)
Yestersday I tried this with mixed results:
I deinstalled the OggDs converted both movies to Matroska and one played OK. No luck with the other, though.
So now I can't even entirely blame the Subtitle Mixer, even though when subtitles are absent all is well...
Since I believe there won't be any internal subtitling support from Matroska what are my other chances beside DVD-RW?
MPC and DVobSub?
Does MPC support subtitles internaly?
I really liked Zoom Player...
