There are two posibilities to watch divx with subtitles:

a) The subtitles are encoded into the video. Good: all in one solution, no compatibility problems. Bad: Subtitles are hard to encode and take away very much bitrate.

If you want this method in spite of the quality problems, follow doom9's guide about Divx/Gordian Knot or subtitles.

b) Subtitles stay in a separate file and are being blended into the movie by vobsub. Good: Subtitles are only 1-2 MB in size (after compression of the *.sub file to *rar) and do not interfere with the movie encoding. Bad: vobsub has to be installed to watch subs. Not all media players can use them, for example the standard divx player.

If you already have sub and idx file: Rename them, so they have the same name as your movie. The movie needs the extension *.avi, not *.divx! So you will have three files, all in one folder: movie.avi, movie.sub (better: movie.rar), movie.idx. Play the avi in a suitable media player, for example bsplayer or zoom player. If you do so, a new icon should appear in your windows systray in the bottom right corner, which belongs to direct vobsub.

vobsub also takes more cpu power since it's an extra layer of filter in direct show. if you have a beefy system then a seprate file is a better solution but if your system is p3 1 gig or under, it puts a strang if u have post processing on and a full resolution video(720x480ish.) anyways to answer ur real question, at save and encode u can choose the subtitle file. after u choose the idx file the noise filter will be auto selected, having it on or not is entirly up to you, you can do a preview and get an idea as to what it looks like =). i dont know if robot for rip is different than gk since i dont use it hehe. but that's how you do it in gk.

edit:spell

I think I know why I can't have subtitles
GKnot2.8beta uses VirtualDub"Mod"
(It contents VirtualDub,NanDub,and etc)
But VobSub can't install plugins with VirtualDub"Mod"
It only can install plugins with VirtualDub
So You can't use VobSub and VirtualDub to mix subtitles when encoding

GKnot2.7 uses VirtualDub but not VirtualDub"Mod"
So maybe You can have a avi files mixed subtitles
Because VobSub on GKnot2.7 can work effectly with VirtualDub

This is my supposition...maybe right maybe wrong...
I'll test it in several days...

when at "save and encode"...
which file do you select??
I think vobsub will make out two files: ".idx" and ".sub"...
