View Full Version : Problem with program paths

Actually only with the VDubMod one (all the other programs are fine). However, every time I start GKnot, I have to re-specify the VDubMod path (default path in the GKnot directory). It remembers all the other paths just fine. I've tried removing registry entries, removing all the files, etc etc, and I always get the same problem with the VDubMod path. I read an earlier post talking about spaces in the directory name causing problems, but that's not the problem here. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just my system (XP SP1)?

Yeah I've had the same problem with mine, and its the latest version of GKnot. It's not that big of a deal tho, I can always set it everytime it starts up

I am using 0.28.2b2. The VDubMod path is always changed to "C:\PROGRA~1\DivX\GORDIA~1\VirtualDubMod\VirtualDubMod.exe", but none of the other paths do so because of the spaces.

hehe if you find it annoying then just copy vdubmod from ur gk directory to newly created folders of C:\PROGRA~1\DivX\GORDIA~1\ =).

See,
"if you find it annoying then just copy vdubmod from ur gk directory to newly created folders of C:\PROGRA~1\DivX\GORDIA~1\"
for fix.

Im using Gknot 28.5 now, I stayed to the earlier version before the Program Path tab was made because I always had problems with it (Such as explained a little lower), anyhow, went to 28.5, all was good, then I think "Regcleaner" scrubbed something it wasn't ment to because all of the Paths in the Program Paths tab is empty, and you can't reselect them. I click on locate, and the exe is right there, double click, and it doesn't enter it back in, really odd, had this problem ever since Program Path was introduced, really bizarre, even re-installing gknot rippack doesn't seem to help :\
So, stay away from Regcleaner if you are using a version above 28.2 it seems ;)
I also have trouble with the .avs files it makes as it just has
LoadPlugin("mpeg2dec3.dll")
rather then the good old
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec3.dll")
which I have to enter in manually with every script, which isn't a problem really, just that Gknot 28.2 seems to work flawlessly instead of having these problems :), see, if I leave it with just "LoadPlugin("mpeg2dec3.dll")" it says it cannot find the file "mpeg2dec3.dll" even though it's all in the default dirs that the rippack puts them in :\, and after checking it is in the same dir as gknot
I might go back to 28.2 like last time, it seems to clear things up :)
System:
AMD XP 2100+

Windows 2000

plugin path behaves normally since it _always_ uses plugin path specified in the path section. (and which is not set in your case)
about registry - try deleting HK_CURRENT_USER/Software/GordianKnot tree and see what happens...

Thankyou for your reply
I tried what you said, and it worked like a charm, couldn't believe it :D
I just had to specify the paths again, but this time it actually worked when I located each exe :P
Thankyou! ;)
