If I have a DVD with only one angle, does decrypting in file mode result in the same IFO and VOB files (for the main movie) as decrypting in IFO mode?
Or to ask a slightly different question, what are the differences between decrypting in FILE mode (main movie only) and IFO mode?
Thanks,
Kevin

The way I understand it, IFO-mode gives you the option to rip only one special VTS, for example an extra, and file-mode gives you the possibility to rip certain files...
In IFO-mode the main movie is automatically selected, because this is what most people want, in File-mode you can specify in the options what should be selected on startup (per default it is main movie too)...
You can do the same things with both...
If you only want a single vob (for a menu for example), then you can use filemode, and if you want the whole VTS, you can use the IFO-mode...
I personally use ISO-mode nearly always, only if I need a small portion of the DVD for something I use File-/IFO-mode...

I use all three modes (ISO, IFO, and File) for ripping a DVD.
I use ISO Mode to copy the entire DVD to my hard drive. Then I use DaemonTool to mount the ISO image.
I use IFO Mode to rip the episodes/scenes that I want. This way I do not have to encode everything at one shot.
I use File Mode to extract the *_0.VOB files from all the PGCs. The extras like menus and photo gallery images are usually buried in one of these *_0.VOB files. This can not be done in IFO Mode because IFO Mode works restricts me to slecting VOBs from one PGC, and it restricts me to selecting VOBs starting from *_1.VOB.
