You've broken following forum-rule:

1a) Use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered

You haven't read the FAQ, either, have you?

Please install the latest ffdshow-alpha, and I hope that you're talking about a re-encoded trailer and not about a pirated movie, as the original trailers are in realvideo, quicktime and wmv format, definitely NOT XviD.

Yes again, and you'r wrong,it's a trailer NOT a pirated movie. That's why I went to this forum to get help, because i coulden't understand it myself(that the divx asked for a xvid codec) something I shouldn't have done.
So if i had found what i was looking for i would NOT have asked you people, yes i have read the rules of the forum.

Hi-

No need to get huffy about it, giving us the angry face. Teegedeck's just doing his job.

So did it work? Does the trailer play now?

Sorry for the attack yesterday:)
No the trailer i've got still does't work, think that it's something wrong whit the DivX player.I've install the latest ffdshow-alpha and made the right settings, but nothing works, but i'm going to see at work today, what we use there.
Sorry again for last night.

Serox: Sorry if I understood your post as 'hey how do I view XviD videos?' of the sort we've gotten many one-timer posts. We have an FAQ on top of this forum for basic questions.

Well, searches for 'xvid no picture' or 'xvid playback' both would have pointed you to the ffdshow-thread, for example.

If you would have read the FAQ's index all the way down to "16. I only get a green/no picture on playback", you'd also probably have found some solutions to try first. It may seem easier just to ask right away, but if everyone does that, we'd soon not be able to handle this forum, anymore. You'll find out that the forum is a very good database if you stay around some time - I hope you will.

Now that one easy solution didn't work, you first should use GSpot to verify the codec actually used for the file. Also try configuring ffdshow to decode DivX and XviD. You could also try playing it with mplayer or the mpeg4ip player. Or how about installing Nic's XviD DSF or the actual XviD-codec? Installing XviD really is quite painless.

Tell us about your results, OK? :)

Also i think is a good idea to uninstall all your codecs before instaling ffdshow alpha. Especialy if you have instaled a codec-pack.
Once installed, try to use both internal and xvid rutine to decode the film (checking and unchecking the use xvid box in the codec section in xvid configuration)

More ideas: maybe it is a OGM file without ogm extension, i have seen many of this bad-named files. Install oggds to try it.

With ffdshow-alpha and OGGDS you should be able to see almost any movie.
