Playback issues

I've just been informed that people are getting a error viewing my clips encoded with DivX5. I have no problem viewing them myself but a friend of mine recieved the error "windows media player encountered an unknown error". He has the codec installed and I just cannot figure out what is up, any ideas guys?

Sorry, but that error doesn't seem familiar to me. There were some versions of DivX 5 that were incompatible with older versions. Is the video created with the same version as your friend has installed? Do you and your friend have the same version installed?

I'm not sure what version he has on his system, I downloaded the 5.05 pro from here and used that. I'll send that to him the next time he is online and see what the result is:)
