Hi,

I'm using a PC at Uni to access the net and I noticed today that when I visit www.doom9.org I get a popup for a file download asking me if I want to download a file called doom9. Seeing as i'm at uni and I don't really care what happens to the machines I downloaded the file and opened it in wordpad, and its just a whole bunch of ASCI looking chars (like if you open a binary).

Once I'd downloaded the file the www.doom9.org page still doesn't load.

I gave the server a ping and got
server2.doom9.org [212.43.217.100]
all my pings timed out, but I'd say thats just the firewall at this end dropping pings.

Strangely if I just visit http://server2.doom9.org everthing works fine.

I tried accessing http://doom9.org instead but then I just get the restricted area authorisation popup which has been discussed here before.

Anyway I thought I better mention about the file incase some deviancy has occurred :)

Chris

server2 runs on a shared machine.. another freeloader is using it and they crash the server all the time.. when its not working properly you get the access forbidden or login messages and I'm afraid there's nothing I can do atm (if you don't pay the bills you have no right to complain).
