hi everybody

does someone can tell me how can I demux subtitle from my avi.
In fact, I have a video in english with french subtitles, and I want to make a video in french, whithout subtitles.
I don't know how the muxing between video and subtitles have been done.

does virtualdub can do that ?
do you know other programms which can help me ?

thanks for all

Most of the time if the subtitle is in an AVI, it's not muxed into the AVI, but rather burned into the movie itself. There is no way to get rid of these subs.

Vdubmod should be able to extract your Subs.

If you just want to remove the subtitles (whhich is something different than demuxing, because demuxing would create a file containing the subtitle), AVI-Mux GUI would do it.
The next version will also be able to demux subtitles

Can I extract burned subs from an avi with VirtualDubMod?
If so, that would be fantastic with some problems I have...
Care to give me a few lines explaining how?
Much appreciated.

Yes, the SubLog filter, found it, tried it, works brilliant. Although real-time only (haven't found a quicker way) but who cares, this saves me hours of hard manual labour. Thx for the head up and hail to the author.
