invalid aspi

i click on dvddecrypter and i get invalid aspi installation detected.
how do i correct this. i also get winaspi file not found when i bring up nero burning rom. i really need help. i dont know anything about aspi.

Download and install it again. You can get it from

Be sure to read the installation instructions that come with the download and make sure you reboot having installed it!

But, afaik, the latest free Acraptec ASPI v4.7x behaves quite inconsistently, particularly in WinXP (confirmed by at least two of my friends, who were experiencing weird problems with dvd and audio cd ripping.) imho, the good old 4.60.1021 is way much stable and works ok in XP too, and I think this is what Doom9 himself recommends. Available at the download section, support utilities (ForceAspi v1.7).

This person isnt running XP - or at least I guess he/she isnt because DVD Decrypter wouldnt need ASPI if that was the case.
I've never had any problems with Adaptecs ASPI, I guess it just depends on the quality of the devices that make up your machine and its configuration.
