i installed this today along with the update after reinstalling windows.
all works fine till i get to cinemacraft encoder (2.5 btw) it does the auto script thing, but then CCE just closes down as soon as it enters the location of the avs file. it does the same whenever i try to load an avs into it manually. no error messages at all.
i'v installed avi synth 2.08 to try and get it working but still nada.
i've made sure that resample audio is in there as well but CCE still crashes.
any ideas?
Have you read the sticky at the sticky at the top of the forum titled "AVI2SVCD fails (at some point)..."
If not, why not? I had a similar problem with CCE immediately shutting down and the vdub tecnique sorted it. However, since you have 40 posts to your name I guess you know your way round this forum so I reckon this may be something different.
If you read it, tried it and it STILL doesn't work I would try deinstalling CCE and DVD2SVCD bundle and reinstalling. If none of this works do a hardware stability check. However as CCE is shutting down before it even starts I think that hardware faults are unlikely but worth checking.

(@ mods - perhaps a link to this from the FAQ's or even a copy of Scipio's post as a sticky in this forum might be helpful)
As an aside, can you play the avs file in Media Player?

yep. the avi's are fine. as for sys stability, it's a brand new PC (i know that doesnt mean it's error free but..) and it works great when i load up mpeg files. no issues at all and not one crash when leaving it running overnight and putting CCE to realtime in task manager.
on a side note tho, i didnt read that thread you meantioned.
Why not?
because i didnt see it.
i'll read it now tho. i've reintalled a bunch of times (dvd2svcd and CCE) to try to get around this.
anyways, since last night, i was playing around a lot and i dont know what the hell i've done, but i was encoding my avi of bordello of blood and it worked (After installing that crc error patch) and it worked (sort of) it didnt close. it was just sitting in idle. i closed it and tested the video. it works now (except you have to run pulldown manually)
i'll go read that thread now :o
