Been trying to use the updates for instant copy 7 but keeps saying it can't find instant copy

I have had to install instant copy 7 onto my D drive rather than C drive due to low space on C ( can't free any space coz I made an error when I partitioned the drive )

Could that be why it's saying it can't find it ? , and if so is there anyway to make it look for instant copy on D drive ?

Thanks

are you trying to upgrade trial version ?

no not trying to upgrade trial version

As I say I think it's because the update automatically assumes that instant copy was installed on C drive

Any clues ?

I have IC7 installed on my D drive and I had no problem applying the update, so it's something else that is causing your problem.

There was this same issue with the last update. What version are you trying to update from right now? Have you run the previous updates?

It seams you have a litlle problem about space.
Ok!

Why you dont repartition your drive whit Partion Magic?....
You get the space you need to install the program and the sky is the limit!...

I've tried to re-partition with partition magic but it keeps telling me it cannot re-size the boot partition?

find it hard to believe that you do not have about 15Mb free on your C-drive, thats what it takes to install IC7. Anyhow the installation program looks for IC7 in the registry, so it does not matter where you install it, apparently something is wrong in the registry, maybe this is because in the past you had the trial version installed and later upgrade to registrated one. Think you need an unistall and a registry clean

as of this minute in time I have exactly 4mb ( which windows keeps warning is extremely low.

I'm not too well up on things to do with registry so can anyone tell me how I would go about doing a registry clean ?

Delete some of the extra junk on your system, seach for the temp folders and delete everything that is in them, also rmove any programs you do not use.

4 MB only, your system must be extremely slow in that case as windows swapfile can also be only 4 MB which is extemly small. To let run windows properly you need at least 100Mb free on you c:drive assuming thats the one you have windows installed on.
As previous post clean your harddisk by removing any temporary files, use the windows standard tool for it (in accesoires, system workset). If you remove program try to use the uninstall option if present of the program or the windows tools add/remove software (control panel, software) don't just delete the files in the directory where program is installed, as in that case refreneces in registry will stay present which may cause problems afterwards.

About the registry clean if you are not familiar with it doing it manually search the web for a registry cleaner program (for example on tucows) which will do it automatically for you, but be warned changing registry file may be a risky operation. Therefor make a backup of the registry file first before cleaning it or modifying it in that case you can always go back to old situation. If you use windows XP you could make a system restore point instead.
