Instant Copy Auto Resize problem, need help

I did a search and found only a few theads about this problem with not alot of good suggestions. Am I one of three people who are experiencing problems with the automatic resize feature in Instant Copy??

When using IC7.1, the automatic resize setting seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works(for DVD's 5gig or less) and sometimes it doesn't(5gig or higher)

IS IT JUST ME? or has anyone else noticed that the AUTOMATIC RESIZE feature is kinda messed up?????

Should I just go to the custom resize and forget the automatic feature???????

The "Automatic Resize" option's more than just a little buggy, in my opinion. I usually always choose "Customized Resize," and bump up the overall size of the project to 4.40GB, using F5 to enable the "OK" button. With the update, I usually average finished file sizes of 4.32GB - 4.35GB, which I'm betting will be as close as we can expect to come without tons of guessing and hit-and-miss.

Mrbass has several guides concerning final file sizes on his site (not to mention his suggestions within this forum), but since I rarely do full-disk copies (I usually generate movie-only projects using IFOedit first) I can't rely on carving up extras to hit the 4.36GB mark. Using the 4.40BG, "Enable OK," trick, to my eyes it comes rather close to matching my earlier CCE projects... of course, I'm not spending several days working on a DVD this way!

My advice? Forget about the "Automatic Resize" option. Grab a Rewritable, choose "Customized Resize," bump 'er up to 4.40GB, and see what you think!
